Visiting committee: We are truly blessed again this year to have a group of extraordinary Sorelle serving on the Visiting Committee. Their dedication and compassion shine through in everything they do. This committee plays a vital role by visiting members who reside in local residential care facilities, as well as acknowledging those who are ill or recovering from injury by delivering thoughtful cards and warm wishes. When time permits, they include visits to sorelle who are still living at home on their own. Visits are thoughtfully planned by the committee and take place at least five times throughout the year. During special holidays, they go above and beyond by bringing treats and gifts to help brighten the season for our members. We are grateful for the kindness and commitment these sorelle bring to our community. Many thanks to Carol Savill, Linda Wilson, Cathy McAlpine and Franca Forbes. Please reach out to Presidentess Carmen Davis, or a member of the visiting committee if you are aware of a member who is living on their own and that may benefit from a visit, or a member who is ill and in hospital, or has recently moved to a care home facility.
Sanctuary: The third week of every month, snacks/baking are brought Monday through Friday to Sanctuary. Sanctuary's mission is to provide a safe and nurturing centre for pre-teens in the City of Trail, reaching out to our children with love and acceptance. Many thanks to our Sorelle who volunteers annually to support this program.
The Sisters of Colombo recently donated $1000 from their charity account to Sanctuary to be used to help offset operation costs to continue the program they provide.
